Chia seeds have been used for generations as a prized superfood. Today, chia seeds are often enjoyed in a light, refreshing ‘fresca,’ meaning ‘fresh’ in English. Fresh is the perfect way to describe this omega-3 packed beverage! Add chia to freshly juiced orange and carrot and the seeds will form a gelatinous coating within minutes, making it easy to get your fill of these nutritious little seeds. Two tablespoons of chia seeds will start your day off right by adding 10g of fiber to your daily intake goals!

Ingredients & Quantity
  • 5 medium oranges
  • 8 medium carrots
  • 1/2 to 1 inch knob of ginger
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
How to cook?
  1. Peel oranges and roughly chop.
  2. Wash carrots and dice to 1” pieces.
  3. Peel ginger.
  4. Feed all pieces through a juicer.
  5. Mix chia seeds into juice.
  6. Allow to sit for 5 minutes, mix well again, and enjoy!

If you don’t have a home juicer, Use your regular blender.

Here is how you prepare this juice in the blender:

Squeeze the orange juice. Mix along with coarsely chopped carrot and ginger and blend till smooth. (try not to sieve the juice, so no fiber is lost)

Add the chia seeds and allow to sit for 5 minutes, mix well again and enjoy!
