- 1 cup Sugar
- 8 cup Water
- 1 lime Lime cut into wedges, optional
- 1 leaf Mint leaves, optional
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix together sliced strawberries, sugar and 1 cup of water. Wrap it up and keep refrigerated for 4 hours.
- Remove the strawberry mix from the refrigerator after 4 hours and blend on high until smooth.
- Pour the blended strawberry mixture through a wire mesh strainer and collect over a large mixing bowl. Discard the seeds and the pulp.
- Now add the remaining 7 cups of cold water to this strained drink along with the lemon wedges and the mint leaves. However, both are optional. It tastes great even without these. I added only lemon.
Recipe Notes
Additional Tips
- For a sparkling twist, replace some or all of the cold water with chilled club soda or sparkling mineral water just before serving to add effervescence without diluting the fruity flavor.
- If you prefer a smoother texture, strain the blended mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove strawberry seeds and pulp before chilling.
- For a vibrant brunch presentation, serve the agua de fresca in clear pitchers with sliced strawberries, lime wheels, and fresh mint sprigs floating in the drink for a colorful, inviting look.
- To infuse deeper mint flavor, muddle a few mint leaves with the sugar before blending, or let the finished drink rest with a handful of mint leaves in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
