Fluffy Idlis With Coconut Chatni

Soft Idlis are everyone's hot favourite 😋 healthy snack ..can be served any time with sambhar, coconut Chatni or tomato sauce .

Ingredients
  

  • Idli tawa 3 cups
  • Urid dal 1 cup
  • Fenugreek seeds 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt
  • Grated fresh coconut 1 cup
  • Green chilly 2
  • Chopped fresh coriander 1 cup
  • Sugar 1 teaspoon

Instructions
 

  • Soak dal and idli rice separately for 5-6 hours and add Fenugreek seeds with urid dal
  • Remove excess water from dal am idli rawa . Mix all and grind well in a grinder ...in to a fine smooth paste . Add some salt and mix well .keep aside covered for fermentation for atleast 5-6 hours .
  • After 5-6 hours ..it will be light and fluffy .
  • Grease idli moulds with some oil or ghee and pour ready idli batter . Steam as usual in cooker (for 10 minutes) or in microwave oven for 4-5 minutes . And soft fluffy idlis are ready .serve with hot sambhar or coconut Chatni
  • For coconut Chatni , take grated coconut, Coriander, green chillies and add some water ...grind it well in to smooth homogeneous mixture ...Chatni is ready to serve . You can always add oil mustard seeds and curry leaves tadka to Chatni.
