In India, traditions differ from region to region. Sankranti is celebrated throughout India but each region calls it bydifferent name and has their own unique way of celebrating. Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup white sesame
  • 1 cup ground nuts
  • 1 cup split dalia
  • 1 1/2 cup desiccated coconut
  • 2 cup castor sugar

Instructions
 

  • Dry roast sesame, groundnut and desiccated coconut separately for two minutes each. Do not mix them.
  • Dry roast split dalia for a few seconds.
  • Discard the skin of groundnut. Crush them lightly with palm, they will split into half.
  • Take a bowl and mix all ingredients together. Sankranti Ellu is readyto offer to the Lord.

Notes

  • Use shiny white sesame. It tastes good for this one.
  • Do not over roast the groundnut.
  • I remove the outer cover of coconut (brown) and use only the white part.
