Atta Halwa, got in Gurudwaras is a favourite in our home. Every year on Guru Nanakdev jis birthday, my mum would make a big batch to be distributed in our local temple. Sharing her recipe here..

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup of Whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup ghee at room temperature
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 3 cup hot water
  • ¼ teaspoon elaichi powder.
  • ½ cup slivered almonds optional

Instructions
 

  • In a thick bottom pan, heat the ghee. Add elaichi powder. Add the flour. Stir fry till on low flame for about 20-25 minutes till it turns dark brown and gives out aroma.
  • Beware not to.let it stick to the bottom or sides so as not to burn it. Add the water. Cook Till the water is absorbed.
  • Add the almonds and sugar. Shut off the flame. Put on a lid. The sugar will dissolve due to the heat. Let stand till its texture changes from paste like to halwa.

Notes

Can adjust sugar quantity as per preference.
