About Sugarcane Juice
Sugarcane juice is more than just a refreshing drink—it’s a powerhouse of essential minerals like calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, and manganese, making it an alkaline-forming beverage. This natural alkalinity is believed to create an environment where diseases like cancer struggle to thrive, with studies suggesting benefits in fighting prostate and breast cancers.
A chilled glass of sugarcane juice not only quenches your thirst but also revitalizes the body, making it a perfect pick-me-up on hot days. Widely celebrated for its health benefits, sugarcane juice acts as a natural remedy for various ailments, supports liver function, and is often recommended by doctors to jaundice patients for quick recovery.
Infused with a splash of lemon juice, a pinch of black salt, and fresh mint, this classic Indian beverage becomes even more invigorating. Enjoy it over ice for a delicious, wholesome way to boost your well-being and savor a true taste of India.

Recipe Notes

Additional Tips
- For an extra cooling effect, muddle a few mint leaves in the glass before pouring the juice to release their essential oils, intensifying both flavor and aroma.
- If you do not have access to a sugarcane juicer, you can peel and chop sugarcane into small pieces and blend with a little water, then strain through a fine muslin cloth for a homemade alternative.
- To add a subtle spicy kick, sprinkle a pinch of roasted cumin powder or chaat masala along with black salt before serving—this enhances the tangy and savory notes typical in Indian street-style sugarcane juice.
- Sugarcane juice oxidizes quickly and can lose its flavor and nutrients; prepare it fresh and serve immediately over ice, but if you need to store it, add a bit more lemon juice and keep it in the refrigerator for no more than 3-4 hours in an airtight container.
