Ingredients
Bread & Spread
- 2 slices Sandwich Bread
- 1 tbsp Butter for toasting and sautéing
- 1 tbsp Chipotle Dressing
- 1 tbsp Mustard Sauce
Seasoning
- 1/2 tsp Pepper black, freshly ground, optional
- 1/2 tsp Pizza Seasoning italian seasoning blend is a good substitute
Instructions
Prepare the Onions and Olives
- Lightly toast the bread slices and set aside.
- Thinly slice the onion. In a pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until they are softened and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
- Halve the olives lengthwise.
Assemble the Sandwich
- Spread chipotle dressing evenly on one slice of toasted bread and mustard sauce on the other slice.
- Layer the caramelized onions and olives onto one slice of bread.
- Sprinkle with black pepper and pizza seasoning.
Toast and Serve
- Top with the other slice of bread. Lightly butter the outside of the sandwich.
- Toast the sandwich in the same pan, over medium heat, until golden brown and the cheese is melted (if using cheese). This will take about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
