Ingredients
For the Roti Churma
- 5-6 Rotis leftover rotis, approximately 200-250g
- 3 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds rai
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1 cup Onion finely chopped
- 1 tsp Chili finely chopped, green
- 1 tsp Chili Powder red
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder haldi
- 1/4 tsp Coriander Powder dhania
- 1.5 tsp Salt or to taste
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1 tbsp Coriander dhania, for garnish
Instructions
Prepare the Rotis
- Break the leftover rotis into small pieces.
- Grind the roti pieces into a fine crumb using a food processor or blender.
Make the Tadka
- Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Once hot, add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
- Add the finely chopped green chilies and sauté for a minute until fragrant.
- Add the finely chopped onions and sauté for 5 minutes until softened.
Combine and Cook
- Stir in the red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the ground rotis to the pan and mix thoroughly with the spice mixture.
- Cook for about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through and slightly crispy.
- Remove from heat and stir in the sugar.
- Cover the pan and let it sit for 2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Garnish and Serve
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
- Serve the Roti Churma hot as a delicious and satisfying breakfast.
