Ingredients
Pizza Dough
- 2 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp Active Yeast dry
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1/2 cup Water (105-115°f)
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tsp Salt
Pizza Sauce
- 2 cup Tomatoes chopped
- 3 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
- 1 tbsp Oregano dried
- 1 tsp Pepper Flakes red
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1-2 tsp Salt to taste
Pizza Toppings
- 1 cup Bell Peppers & green, chopped, red, yellow
- 1/4 cup Olives black, sliced
- 1 tsp Jalapeno (optional), chopped
- 1 cup Tomatoes sliced
- 6-7 cubes Cheese processed
- 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese shredded
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil for greasing the baking sheet
Instructions
Make the Pizza Dough
- In a small bowl, combine active dry yeast, sugar, and 1/2 cup of warm water (105-115°F). Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mixture. Knead until a smooth dough forms. Add more warm water, a tablespoon at a time, if needed to achieve a soft, slightly sticky dough.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for at least 3 hours, or until doubled in size.
Make the Pizza Sauce
- In a saucepan, combine chopped tomatoes, tomato ketchup, oregano, red pepper flakes, sugar, and salt. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.
Assemble the Pizza
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a 12-inch circle.
- Lightly oil a baking sheet. Transfer the rolled-out dough to the prepared baking sheet.
- Arrange the processed cheese cubes around the edge of the pizza crust. Cut each cube into 3 smaller rectangles for better distribution.
- Gently pull the edges of the dough outwards and then fold each section inwards by 90 degrees creating a “pocket” for the cheese, leaving a gap of about 2 inches between each fold.
- Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the pizza crust.
- Top with bell peppers, black olives, jalapenos (if using), and sliced tomatoes.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the toppings.
Bake the Pizza
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with additional oregano and red pepper flakes (optional).
