About Palak Hashi/ Hasi

Palak Hashi or Hasi (meaning Raw) is a everyday dish from the Uttara Karnataka homes. A very simple yet tasty raitha that can be had along with rice. I have prepared it using palak. This can prepared using any other veggies (boiled or raw).

  • Once the palak is cooked and cooled, add coconut paste and curd. Mix well until combined.
  • Splutter mustard and urad dal. Add it to the palak gravy. An easy and simple side dish for a week day lunch or dinner is ready.

Recipe Notes

Raw veggies also can be made use of. Traditionally it is the raw vegetables that are used. Because it is palak, I have boiled it to tender.
Any veggies/ leafy vegetables can be used.
You can make it even more spicier adding more green chillies.
You can use either sour or sweet curd.
