Ingredients
Parfait Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp Chia Seeds soaked in 1/4 cup water for at least 30 minutes
- 2 Tbsp Yogurt
- 1/2 cup Muesli
- 1/2 cup Mango peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup Apple diced, skin on
- 2 Tbsp Pomegranate Seeds
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the chia seeds with 1/4 cup of water. Soaking the chia seeds softens them and creates a gel-like texture.
- In a glass or jar, start layering your parfait. Begin with a base of muesli.
- Add a layer of diced mango.
- Add a layer of yogurt.
- Next, add a layer of diced apple. Keeping the skin on adds color and nutrients.
- Sprinkle pomegranate seeds over the apple layer.
- Top with the soaked chia seeds.
- Repeat the layers if desired, ending with a sprinkle of chia seeds. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Recipe Notes
Good To Know
- For an extra creamy texture, soak the chia seeds in a little milk or plant-based milk for 15-20 minutes before assembling the parfait.
- If you're preparing the parfait ahead of time, assemble everything except for the muesli and pomegranate seeds—add those just before serving.
- Swap out mango and apple for seasonal fruits like berries or kiwi.
- Try roasted nuts alongside the muesli for added protein and crunch.
- For a vegan version, use coconut or almond yogurt and a granola or muesli that does not contain honey or dairy-based binders.
Expert Tips
- Layer the yogurt and fruit attractively in a clear glass for a visually appealing parfait.
- If using frozen fruit, allow it to thaw slightly before adding it to the parfait to prevent it from becoming too watery.
- For a boost of flavor, add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup just before serving.
Storage Instructions
- Store leftover parfait in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Note that the muesli may soften over time.
