Ingredients
- 1 pound beef lean ground
- 1 yellow onion large, diced
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups broth beef, low-sodium
- 1 tomato sauce 8 oz can
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt seasoned
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 oz pasta shells small
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet or sauté pan over medium heat.
- Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart, until browned and cooked through.
- Transfer the cooked beef to a plate and drain excess grease if needed.
- Add the diced onion to the same pan and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds.
- Sprinkle the flour over the onion and garlic and stir for about 1 minute.
- Slowly pour in the beef broth while stirring and scraping the bottom of the pan.
- Add the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, seasoned salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Add the pasta shells and stir until coated in the sauce.
- Bring to a gentle simmer, cover, and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring often, until the pasta is tender.
- Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Return the cooked ground beef to the pan and stir until creamy and heated through.
- Taste and adjust the salt and black pepper.
- Let the pasta rest for 5 minutes, then serve warm.
