Ingredients
For the Dough
- 1 cup Wheat Bran
- 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour whole
For the Filling
For the Garnish
- 1-2 tsp Chocolate Syrup
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the wheat bran and whole wheat flour.
- Gradually add water to the dry ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth and elastic. This develops the gluten, resulting in a more pliable tortilla.
- Divide the dough into four equal portions. On a lightly floured surface, roll each portion into a thin, round tortilla.
- Heat a flat pan or griddle over medium heat. Lightly brush the pan with oil or cooking spray.
- Cook each tortilla for 1-2 minutes per side, or until lightly golden brown and cooked through. Watch for air bubbles to form, indicating the tortilla is cooking.
- Spread a tablespoon of dark chocolate peanut butter evenly over each tortilla.
- Arrange the chopped apples, muesli, cinnamon, honey, almonds, and walnuts over the peanut butter.
- Carefully wrap each tortilla tightly, folding in the sides as you roll to create a secure wrap.
- Cut each wrap in half diagonally and drizzle with chocolate syrup.
Recipe Notes
Good To Know
- You can use readymade tortillas.
Expert Tips
- For extra flavor, warm the tortillas briefly before using them. This enhances their pliability and taste.
- If making your own tortillas, experiment with different types of flour for unique flavors and textures.
- Don't overfill your tortillas, especially if baking or frying, as this can cause them to burst.
Storage Instructions
- Store leftover tortillas wrapped tightly in plastic wrap or in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
