Ingredients
Wet Ingredients
- 1 cup Multi Millet Batter (i used farmz2familiez multi millet idli/dosa batter brand)
- 1 tsp Water
- 1 tsp Butter for greasing
Aromatics and Spices
- 1 small Onion finely chopped
- 1 inch Ginger finely chopped
- 1 Chili finely chopped, green
- 5 Curry Leaves chopped
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk the multi-millet batter with 1 teaspoon of water until smooth. This helps to thin the batter slightly for even cooking.
- Add the chopped onion, ginger, green chili, curry leaves, and salt to the batter. Mix well to combine.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Thoroughly grease a waffle iron with butter. This prevents the waffles from sticking and ensures easy removal.
- Pour the batter into the preheated and greased waffle iron. Cook according to the manufacturer's instructions, until golden brown and crispy.
- Carefully remove the cooked waffles from the iron and place them on a baking sheet.
- Reduce the oven temperature to 180°C (350°F). Baking the waffles at a lower temperature after the initial browning helps to cook them through evenly.
- Bake the waffles for 30 minutes.
- Increase the oven temperature back to 200°C (400°F).
- Flip the waffles and bake for another 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides.
- Serve the waffles immediately with coconut chutney.
