Instructions

Prepare the Mango Pulp

  • Puree the mango pulp until completely smooth. Remove any large fibers.

Combine Ingredients

  • In a blender, combine the mango puree, whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract (if using), and salt. Blend until completely smooth and creamy.

First Freeze

  • Pour the mixture into a shallow, freezer-safe container. Cover tightly with aluminum foil or plastic wrap. Freeze for 3-4 hours, or until partially frozen and scoopable but still soft.

Blend Again

  • Remove the partially frozen mixture from the freezer. Using a blender or food processor, blend until completely smooth to break up any ice crystals. This step creates a smoother, creamier texture.

Final Freeze

  • Return the mixture to the freezer-safe container. Cover tightly and freeze for at least 4-6 hours, or preferably overnight, until completely solid.

Serve

  • Scoop the mango ice cream into bowls or cones and serve immediately. Enjoy!

Recipe Notes

Expert Tips for the Perfect Mango Ice Cream

  • For the best flavor, use ripe, flavorful mangoes. The sweeter the mango, the less sugar you may need.
  • If you don't have a blender, you can use a food processor to puree the mangoes and blend the ice cream mixture. However, a high powered blender is always preferable.
  • To prevent large ice crystals from forming, make sure to blend the mixture well after the first freeze.
  • Get creative with additions! Try adding a pinch of cardamom, a swirl of chocolate, or some chopped nuts for extra flavor and texture.
