Ingredients
For the Hummus
- 1.5 cup Chickpeas and drained; or 2 cups cooked chickpeas, canned, peeled, rinsed
- 1/4 cup Tahini
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil extra virgin
- 2 tbsp Lime Juice
- 1 tsp Salt or to taste
- 1/2 tsp Cumin ground
- 1/2 - 1 tsp Chili Powder or to taste, red
- 2 clove Garlic peeled
For Garnish
- 2 tbsp Coriander chopped; or parsley, fresh
- 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds roasted
Instructions
Prepare the Chickpeas
- Peel the skins off the boiled chickpeas if using dried chickpeas. If using canned, simply rinse and drain them thoroughly.
Blend the Hummus
- Combine the chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lime juice, salt, cumin, garlic, and chili powder in a food processor or blender.
- Blend until completely smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed. Add a tablespoon or two of water if necessary to reach desired consistency.
Serve the Hummus
- Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl.
