- 1 cup Sugar also known as chini pisi chini, powdered
- 50 gm Almonds finely chopped, also known as badam
- 50 gm Walnuts finely chopped, also known as akhroot
- 50 gm Raisins chopped, also known as kishmish
- 50 gm Desiccated Coconut grated, also known as khopra
- 25 gm Chironji also known as chiraonji
- 1 tsp Cardamom Powder also known as elaichi or hari ilaichi (green cardamom)
Wet Ingredients
- 1 cup Ghee clarified butter
Instructions
Preparing the Flour and Dry Fruits
- Sieve the whole wheat flour and set aside. Heat 1 teaspoon of ghee in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped almonds, walnuts, raisins, and chironji. Roast for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until fragrant. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Roasting the Flour
- Add the remaining ghee to the pan. Add the sieved flour and roast over low heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring constantly, until the flour is fragrant and lightly golden. Be careful not to burn it.
Combining Ingredients and Shaping the Laddoos
- Remove the pan from the heat. Add the roasted dry fruits, desiccated coconut, and cardamom powder to the roasted flour. Mix well. Allow the mixture to cool slightly.
- Once the mixture is slightly warm, gradually add the powdered sugar and mix thoroughly until well combined. The mixture should be firm enough to roll into balls.
- Shape the mixture into small balls (laddoos). Ensure your hands are lightly oiled to prevent sticking.
Storing the Laddos
- Place the finished laddoo in an airtight container and allow them to cool completely before storing. They will keep well for up to a week at room temperature.
