Matar Paneer is a most popular North Indian Curry. It is creamy, delicious and simple and fuss free recipe. This curry is prepared from Indian Cottage Cheese (Paneer) and Green Peas. This combination of Paneer and Green Peas is mingled in a rich and creamy Tomato Gravy. This curry goes perfect with both Roti as well as Rice.

Ingredients
- For Onion – Tomato Paste
- Roughly chopped Onions 1 cup
- Roughly chopped Tomatoes 1 cup
- Oil 2 tablespoon
- Cashews / Kaju 4 to 5 nos
- Garlic Cloves 4 to 5 nos
- Chopped Ginger 1 tsp
- Salt ½ tsp
- Other Ingredients
- Cottage Cheese / Paneer Cubes 300 gm
- Finely chopped Onions ½ cup
- Finely chopped Coriander Leaves ¼ cup
- Green Peas / Matar ½ cup
- Water ½ cup
- Oil 2 tablespoon
- Cumin Seeds / Jeera ½ tsp
- Red Chilli Powder / Lal mirchi 1 tsp
- Turmeric Powder / Haldi ¼ tsp
- Coriander Powder / Dhaniya ½ tsp
- Garam Masala ½ tsp
- Cumin Powder / Jeera ¼ tsp
- Salt ½ tsp
- Sugar 1 tsp
- Fresh Cream / Malai 1 tsp

Instructions
- In a heating pan add 2 tablespoon of Oil and allow to heat.
- Then add 4 to 5 nos of Cashews (Kaju), 4 to 5 nos of Garlic Cloves, 1 tsp of chopped Ginger, 1 cup of roughly chopped Onions and sauté for few min or until Onion changes the color.
- Add 1 cup of roughly chopped Tomatoes, ½ tsp of Salt and cook for 5 Min or until Tomatoes are soft.
- Then blend the cooked mixture in a mixer grinder and blend into the smooth paste.
- Then in the same pan, again add 2 tablespoon of Oil and allow to heat.
- Add ½ tsp of Cumin Seeds (Jeera), 1 tsp of Red Chilli Powder, ¼ tsp of Turmeric Powder (Haldi) and mix well.
- Furthermore, add ¼ cup of finely chopped Onions and sauté for 2 Min.
- Then add ½ tsp of Coriander Powder (Dhaniya), ½ tsp of Garam Masala, ¼ tsp of Cumin Powder (Jeera), ¼ cup of finely chopped Coriander Leaves and mix well.
- Then add the blended smooth paste into the pan and mix well.
- Add ½ cup of Green Peas (Matar) and mix well.
- Then add ½ tsp of Salt, 1 tsp of Sugar, 1 tsp of Fresh Cream (Malai), ½ cup of Water and mix well.
- Finally add 300 gm of Cottage Cheese (Paneer) Cubes and give a nice mix.
- Cover the lid and cook on medium flame for 2 Min.
- Matar Paneer is now ready, garnish with fresh Coriander Leaves and serve with Naan / Roti or Rice.

Notes
– Green Peas if taken frozen one, you can use it directly and if it is Fresh Green Peas just boil for 5 Min and then use it.
– You can also fry the Paneer cubes and then add to gravy as per taste.
