Ingredients
  

  • Grated Coconut
  • Roasted gram
  • tamarind
  • red chillies
  • Asafoetida
  • Thinly sliced onions
  • Galic pearls
  • Salt
  • Mustard seeds and curry leaves for seasoning

Instructions
 

  • In a blender jar add 5 to 7 table spoons of grated coconut, 2 table spoons of roasted gram (Pottukadalai), salt, 1/4 tea spoon of hing powder, 4 garlic pearls, a small pebble size tamarind and keep aside.
  • Heat a tea spoon of oil and fry 4 or 5 red chillies for few seconds and add this to the blender. Now grind them to chutney adding some water. After grinding add some more water and bring them to milk shake consistency and keep aside.
  • Heat a pan with 2 tea spoons of oil. Add mustard seeds and after they splutter add 2 tb spoons of thinly sliced onions and some curry leaves.
  • Fry till the onions become translucent. Switch off the stove and wait till it becomes cold. Add to the chutney and mix well. The spicy chutney is ready now.
