Lapsi payasam is a popular sweet from the south indian cuisine, Lapsi is a sweet halwa made from dalia.This dish is very simple, easy, delicious and fast to cook.

Ingredients
  

  • Broken wheat dalia 1 Cup.
  • Sugar 3/4 Cup.
  • Almonds 2 tablespoons.
  • Cardamom powder 1 teaspoons.
  • Raisins 16-18 numbers.
  • cloves 2 nos
  • Cinnamon 2 inch stick
  • Ghee 3/4 Cup.
  • Water 2 1/2 Cup.

Instructions
 

  • Soak the raisins in 1/2 cup water and keep aside.
  • Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed pan, add the broken wheat and saute on a high flame till it turns pinkish brown.
  • Add water n cook it on 12 whistles check the dalia cooked well all water evaporated. Add sugar, cashews, raisins, cloves and cinnamon.
  • The lapsi is ready when the ghee starts oozing out from the sides of the pan.
  • Serve hot garnished with blanched almonds and sprinkle green cardamom powder.
