Ingredients
- 1 florets Cauliflower
- 1 ½ cup Water
- 1-2 tsp Salt or as per taste
- ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
- 3 tsp Oil
- ¼ tsp Mustard Seeds
- ½ tsp Cumin Seeds
- ½ gm Bengal Gram Dal
- ½ tsp Gram black, split, white
- 1 Onion chopped finely
- 1 tbsp Curry Leaves
- ½ tsp Pepper
- 4 tsp Coconut grated
Instructions
Blanch the Cauliflower
- Bring the water to a boil in a pan. Add the cauliflower florets, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook until slightly tender but still firm, about 5-7 minutes. Drain well and set aside.
Prepare the Tempering
- Heat oil in a pan or wok over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chana dal and urad dal. Sauté until lightly golden.
Sauté Aromatics and Cauliflower
- Add the chopped onions to the pan and sauté until translucent and slightly golden. Stir in the curry leaves and sauté for a few seconds. Add the blanched cauliflower florets and sauté for 2-3 minutes, ensuring they're well coated.
Season and Finish
- Adjust salt to taste. Add the black pepper powder and sauté for another minute. Stir in the grated coconut and mix well. Cook for another minute, ensuring everything is combined.
