- 2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 tsp Cinnamon ground
- 1 tsp Cloves ground
- 1 tbsp Ginger ground
- 1 pinch Salt
Wet Ingredients
Instructions
Prepare the Apples
- Melt 50g of cold butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the chopped apples and sauté until tender and lightly golden brown. Set aside to cool.
Preheat Oven and Prepare Pans
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
Cream Butter and Sugars
- In a large bowl, cream together the 175g softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the honey.
Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
Fold in Apples and Walnuts
- Gently fold in the sautéed apples and chopped walnuts.
Bake the Cakes
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve
