About Sausage Rice With Vegetables
If you're looking to whip up a quick and satisfying lunch or dinner, this Sausage Rice With Vegetables is your perfect one-pot solution! I love giving this dish a spicy kick by using Chicken Chilly Sausage, but feel free to choose any sausage that suits your palate. The addition of mixed vegetables makes it wholesome and colorful, turning a simple meal into a hearty feast.
To elevate the flavor, I infuse the rice with a blend of aromatic herbs—basil, oregano, thyme, and rosemary. You can mix and match these herbs to suit your taste, making each pot uniquely your own. This recipe is not only easy and fuss-free but also packs bold flavors in every bite, ensuring a delicious meal with minimal effort.

Additional Tips
- For extra depth, lightly pan-fry the sausage slices before adding them to the rice—this caramelizes the edges and intensifies their flavor throughout the dish.
- If you prefer a smokier profile, stir in a teaspoon of smoked paprika or a splash of chipotle sauce along with the spice mix to complement the Indian flavors.
- To make this dish ahead, undercook the rice slightly and store the assembled mixture in the fridge; reheat gently with a splash of water to prevent the rice from drying out.
- For a vegetarian variation, substitute chicken sausage with soya or paneer sausages and use a pinch of kala namak (black salt) to mimic the umami flavor of meat.
