Instructions

  • Rinse the poha in a fine-mesh sieve under cold water until it softens slightly. This removes excess starch and prevents the poha from becoming mushy.
    Evening snacks
  • Heat the olive oil in a large pan or skillet over medium heat. Add the peanuts and roast, stirring frequently, until they are golden brown and fragrant. Remove the peanuts from the pan and set aside.
    Evening snacks
  • Add the dried red chilies and cumin seeds to the same pan. Sauté for a few seconds until the spices release their aroma. Be careful not to burn them.
  • Add the green peas and salt to the pan. Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes until the peas are slightly tender.
  • Add the rinsed poha, garam masala, and chopped green chilies to the pan. Gently mix everything together, ensuring the poha is evenly coated with the spices and oil.
    Evening snacks
  • Add the roasted peanuts back to the pan and stir to combine. Cook for another minute to heat the peanuts through.
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro. Serve the poha snack immediately while it's warm and enjoy!
