Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- ½ cup Flattened Rice flattened rice
- ½ cup Peas fresh or frozen, green
- ¼ cup Peanuts
Spices and Aromatics
- ½ tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1-2 Chilies dried, red
- 1 Tbsp Chilies finely chopped, green
- 1 tsp Garam Masala
Instructions
- Rinse the poha in a fine-mesh sieve under cold water until it softens slightly. This removes excess starch and prevents the poha from becoming mushy.
- Heat the olive oil in a large pan or skillet over medium heat. Add the peanuts and roast, stirring frequently, until they are golden brown and fragrant. Remove the peanuts from the pan and set aside.
- Add the dried red chilies and cumin seeds to the same pan. Sauté for a few seconds until the spices release their aroma. Be careful not to burn them.
- Add the green peas and salt to the pan. Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes until the peas are slightly tender.
- Add the rinsed poha, garam masala, and chopped green chilies to the pan. Gently mix everything together, ensuring the poha is evenly coated with the spices and oil.
- Add the roasted peanuts back to the pan and stir to combine. Cook for another minute to heat the peanuts through.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro. Serve the poha snack immediately while it's warm and enjoy!
