Ingredients
 

For the Egg Yolk Garland

  • 5 Egg large eggs, separated
  • 1 cup Sugar granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • 10-12 Cherry for garnish, maraschino cherries

For the Egg White Cake

  • 2 pod Cardamom green cardamom pods, or 1 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1 Disposable Cup small, with 3 small holes poked in the bottom
  • 1 Needle for poking holes in the disposable cup

Instructions
 

Prepare the Egg Yolk Garland

  • Separate egg yolks and whites. Lightly whisk the egg yolks and set aside.
  • Boil water and sugar in a saucepan to create a light syrup.
  • Poke three small holes in the bottom of the disposable cup using a needle.
  • Gently pour the whisked egg yolks through the holes into the boiling syrup, rotating the cup to create continuous strands.
  • Cook for 1-2 minutes, gently moving the strands with a slotted spoon to prevent sticking.
  • Remove the cooked yolk strands and set aside to cool. Repeat until all yolks are used.
  • Allow the remaining sugar syrup to cool completely.

Prepare the Egg White Cake

  • Once the sugar syrup is cool, gently whisk it into the egg whites.
  • Add the ground cardamom (or finely crushed cardamom pods) and whisk until well combined.
  • Steam the egg white mixture in a steamer for 20-25 minutes, or until fully cooked.
  • Remove from steamer and let cool completely.

Assemble and Garnish

  • Once the egg white cake and yolk strands are cooled, carefully slice or cut the egg white cake into smaller pieces.
  • Arrange the cooled egg yolk strands on top of the egg white cake pieces. Garnish with fresh cherries.
