About Mono-Fruit Breakfast Bowl: Papaya with Soaked Nuts & Seeds

I used to think a vibrant mix of fruits was the ultimate breakfast fruit salad. But my naturopath opened my eyes to the benefits of a mono-fruit approach, focusing on one fruit at a time to maximize nutrient absorption and ease digestion.
This recipe highlights the deliciousness of papaya, but you can easily adapt it with bananas, mangoes, apples, or pears—whatever's fresh and seasonal. It's a simple, mindful way to start your day with a nourishing and flavorful bowl.
This isn't your average fruit salad! The addition of soaked nuts and seeds adds a boost of healthy fats, fiber, and protein, enhancing both taste and nutritional value. Remember to consume immediately for optimal benefits.

Instructions

Prepare the Nuts and Seeds

  • Wash all dried fruits and seeds thoroughly. Soak them in 2-3 tablespoons of water for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight. Do not discard the soaking liquid.

Assemble the Bowl

  • Cut the papaya into bite-sized pieces. Add the soaked nuts, seeds, and the soaking liquid to the bowl with the papaya. The figs and raisins will absorb most of the liquid, preventing a soggy salad.

Finish and Serve

  • Sprinkle ground flaxseeds over the top. Enjoy immediately for maximum freshness and nutrient absorption. Do not store leftovers.
