Instructions

Prepare the Soya Nuggets

  • Boil 1/2 cup of water. Add the soya chunks and let them soak until fully expanded. Drain well and squeeze out excess water. Then, finely grind or chop the soya chunks using a food processor or a knife.

Mix the Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground soya chunks, salt, garam masala, chaat masala, green chilies, and chopped coriander. Mix thoroughly.

Incorporate Binder and Shape Kababs

  • Soak the bread slices in water until softened, then squeeze out all excess water. Add the soaked bread to the soya mixture along with gram flour. Mix well to combine. Shape the mixture into small kabab patties.

Fry the Kababs

  • Heat the oil in a deep pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully place the soya kababs in the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy on all sides. Remove from oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Serve the soya nuggets kababs hot as a snack or appetizer. They are delicious on their own or served with chutney or dipping sauce.

Recipe Notes

Expert Tips for Perfect Soya Nuggets Kababs

  • For extra flavor, marinate the soya chunks in a little yogurt and ginger-garlic paste for 30 minutes before preparing.
  • Adjust the amount of green chilies according to your spice preference.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan when frying the kababs. This ensures even cooking and prevents them from becoming soggy.
  • For a healthier option, bake the kababs in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
