Recipe Notes
Expert Tips for the Perfect Crumble
- For a crispier crumble topping, use a combination of almond flour and rolled oats. The oats add texture, while the almond flour contributes to a lovely nutty flavor.
- Don't overmix the crumble topping. Overmixing will develop the gluten in the oats and result in a tough topping.
- If your fruit is particularly juicy, you may want to increase the amount of tapioca starch to help thicken the filling. This will prevent a soggy bottom.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra special treat.
