Recipe Notes

Additional Tips

  • For a layered effect, let the custard cool slightly before pouring into serving glasses, then alternate layers of custard and diced fruits, finishing with a topping of chopped nuts or pomegranate seeds for extra color and crunch.
  • To prevent the fruits from releasing excess moisture and making the custard watery, pat them dry with a paper towel before adding, and avoid using highly watery fruits like watermelon.
  • If you want to unmold the pudding for a fancier presentation, dissolve 1-2 teaspoons of agar-agar or gelatin in warm milk and mix into the custard before chilling to help it set firmly.
  • For a vegan version, substitute dairy milk with almond or coconut milk and use cornstarch instead of traditional custard powder, adjusting sweetness as needed.
