Recipe Notes

Additional Tips

  • For a richer flavor and aroma, lightly toast the oats and dry fruits separately before mixing them with the dates; this enhances both crunch and nuttiness in each bite.
  • If you prefer a smoother texture, pulse the dry fruits and oats in a food processor until coarsely ground before combining with dates—this helps the ladoos hold together better and makes them kid-friendly.
  • For added variety, roll the finished ladoos in finely chopped pistachios, desiccated coconut, or a mix of poppy and melon seeds for an extra layer of texture and a visually appealing finish.
  • Store the ladoos in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or refrigerate for longer shelf life; they also freeze well and can be enjoyed straight from the freezer as a chewy treat.
