Ingredients
For the Halwa
- 1 cup Custard Powder vanilla flavored preferred
- 2 cup Sugar
- 4 cup Water
- 1/2 cup Ghee
- 1/2 cup Cashews chopped
- 1 tsp Cardamom Powder elaichi
- 1 Pinch Of Saffron for enhanced color and flavor, optional
Instructions
Prepare the Custard Mixture
- In a non-stick pan, whisk together the custard powder, sugar, and water until completely smooth and lump-free.
Cook the Halwa
- Cook the mixture over high heat, stirring constantly, until it comes to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and add the chopped cashews, ghee (clarified butter), and cardamom powder. Stir continuously.
Thicken the Halwa
- Continue to stir on medium heat until the mixture thickens, becoming glossy and pulling away from the sides of the pan (about 10-15 minutes). If using saffron, add it at this stage.
Set and Serve
- Pour the halwa into a greased tray or baking dish and spread evenly. Make decorative indents while the halwa is still warm, using a fork or knife. Let it cool completely.
