Ingredients
For the Salmon Marinade
- 2 pieces Salmon Fillets about 4-6 oz each; adjust based on size
- 2 tsp Mustard Sauce
- 1 tsp Mustard Chili Oil or substitute with 1 tsp chili oil + 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
- 1 tsp Dill dried
- 2 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1 tsp Pepper Flakes red
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1.5 tsp Salt or to taste
For the Soy Filling
- 1 cup Soy Chunks ground, soaked
- 1 Chili finely chopped, green
- 2 clove Garlic minced
- 1/2 tsp Chili Powder red
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1/2 cup Vegetables diced bell peppers, etc., mixed, zucchini
- 2 tsp Coriander chopped
- 1/2 tsp Pepper ground, black
- 1 tsp Ginger ground, dried
- 1 tsp All-Purpose Flour
- 2 tsp Vegetable Oil for cooking the filling
- 1 tsp Chaat Masala
- 1.5 tsp Salt or to taste
For Coating and Frying
- 1 Egg lightly beaten
- 1/2 tsp Pepper ground, black
- 1.5 tsp Salt or to taste
- 1 cup Breadcrumb
- Vegetable Oil for frying
Instructions
Prepare the Salmon Marinade
- Combine mustard sauce, mustard chili oil (or substitute), ginger-garlic paste, dried dill, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, paprika, and salt in a bowl. Add salmon fillets, ensuring they are evenly coated. Marinate for at least 45 minutes.
Prepare the Soy Filling
- Heat oil in a pan. Add minced garlic, then add the ground soy chunks, mixed vegetables, and all the remaining soy filling spices (green chili, red chili powder, lemon juice, coriander, black pepper, ginger, flour, chaat masala, salt). Cook until vegetables are tender and the mixture is fragrant. Set aside to cool.
Prepare the Egg Wash
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, salt, and pepper.
Fry the Salmon Bites
- Heat oil in a frying pan. Take a marinated salmon fillet, place a spoonful of the cooled soy filling on top, and gently press. Dip the salmon bite first in the egg wash, then in breadcrumbs, ensuring it's fully coated. Fry until golden brown and crispy on both sides. Repeat with remaining fillets.
