Instructions

Prepare the Fish

  • Clean and wash the fish fillets thoroughly. Make shallow slits on top of each fillet for better marination.

Make the Green Paste

  • Grind together the cilantro, mint leaves, ginger, garlic, and green chilies into a smooth paste. Add a little water if needed.

Marinate the Fish

  • In a bowl, combine the chickpea flour, rice flour, yogurt, green paste, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well to ensure there are no lumps.
  • Rub this mixture thoroughly onto both sides of the fish fillets. Marinate for at least 1 hour, or preferably longer for enhanced flavor.

Fry the Fish

  • Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat. Gently place the marinated fish fillets in the pan, ensuring not to overcrowd. Drizzle a little oil over the top of the fish.
  • Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Avoid overcooking, as this can make the fish dry.

Serve

  • Remove the fish from the pan and serve hot. Garnish with thinly sliced onions and lemon wedges.
