Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 1.5 cup Bajra Flour also known as pearl millet flour
- 1/2 tsp Dill finely chopped
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Chili Powder red
- 1/2 tsp Carom Seeds also known as ajwain
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds also known as zeera
- 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds also known as til; reserve 1 teaspoon for sprinkling
- 1 pinch Asafoetida also known as hing
Wet Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
- 1/2 small Onion finely chopped
- 3/4 cup Yogurt or curd
- 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
- 1-1.5 cup Water add gradually to reach desired consistency
Cooking
- 2 tbsp Oil for greasing the pan
Instructions
Prepare the Batter
- Combine bajra flour, dill, salt, red chili powder, carom seeds, cumin seeds, 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, asafoetida, chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste, and yogurt in a large bowl. Gradually add water, mixing until a smooth, slightly thick batter forms.
Rest the Batter
- Let the batter rest for at least 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Cook the Pancakes
- Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease the pan with oil.
Sesame Seed Base
- Sprinkle a small amount of the reserved sesame seeds onto the hot pan.
Cook Each Pancake
