  • 1/2 cup (125g) gm Dill chopped, fresh leaves
  • 1/2 cup cup Potato boiled, grated
  • Water Water as needed, to make a smooth batter
  • 1 tbsp Oil for greasing the pan

Prepare the Batter

  • Mix pearl millet flour, sesame seeds, cumin seeds, red chili powder, and salt in a bowl. Gradually add water, mixing until a smooth, pourable batter forms. Stir in the chopped dill and grated potato. Let the batter rest for 10-15 minutes.

Cook the Appams

  • Heat an appam pan or a non-stick pan over medium heat. Lightly grease each cavity or the pan with oil.

Pour and Cook

  • Pour a ladleful of batter into each cavity or onto the hot pan, spreading it thinly. Cook until the bottom is golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Flip the appams and cook the other side until lightly browned. Repeat with the remaining batter.
