Ingredients
For the Filling
- 250 gm Cottage Cheese indian cheese; can be substituted with firm tofu
- 100 gm Potato boiled and mashed
- 1 tsp Oil vegetable or canola oil
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Chili Powder adjust to taste, red
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds ground
- 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
- 1/2 tsp Chaat Masala
For the Coating
- 1/2 cup Breadcrumb
- 1/2 cup Vermicelli also known as seviyan; finely crushed
- 2 tbsp All-Purpose Flour
- 2-3 tbsp Water for making a slurry
Instructions
Prepare the Filling
- Combine paneer, mashed potato, oil, salt, red chili powder, cumin seeds, garam masala, and chaat masala in a bowl. Mix well to form a firm dough. Refrigerate for 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the mixture to firm up.
Prepare the Coating
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour and water to form a smooth, thin paste.
Shape and Coat the Rolls
- Shape the paneer mixture into small cylindrical rolls. Dip each roll into the flour paste, ensuring it’s evenly coated. Then, roll the coated rolls in the crushed vermicelli, pressing gently to adhere.
Air Fry the Rolls
- Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F). Place the coated paneer rolls in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Air fry for 7-8 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
