Ingredients
Filling
- 5 medium Potatoes boiled
- 1.5 tsp Salt or to taste
- 0.5 tsp Chaat Masala
Bread Rolls
- 5 slices Bread
- 2 tsp All-Purpose Flour
- 1 cup Bell Peppers chopped, green
- 1 cup Bell Peppers chopped, red
- 3 tsp Sesame Seeds
Instructions
- In a bowl, mash the boiled potatoes.
- Add salt and chaat masala to the mashed potatoes. Mix well and set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the refined flour with a little water to create a thick slurry. This will act as an adhesive for the bread rolls.
- On a separate plate, combine the chopped green and red bell peppers with sesame seeds.
- Remove the crusts from each bread slice. Using a rolling pin, flatten each slice until thin.
- Place a spoonful of the mashed potato mixture onto one side of each flattened bread slice.
- Roll the bread slice tightly around the filling to form a cylindrical roll. Seal the edge with a bit of the flour slurry.
- Brush the entire surface of each bread roll with the flour slurry. This helps the sesame seed mixture adhere and creates a crispy exterior.
- Roll each coated bread roll in the bell pepper and sesame seed mixture, ensuring it's evenly coated.
- Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F).
- Place the prepared bread rolls in the air fryer basket, ensuring they aren't overcrowded. Air fry at 160°C (325°F) for 5 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve the hot and crispy bread rolls immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as tomato ketchup.
Recipe Notes
Good To Know
- For extra crunch and a nutty flavor, brush the bread rolls lightly with oil or melted butter before air frying, and sprinkle additional sesame seeds on top.
- To prevent the bread from cracking or drying out during shaping, gently moisten the edges with a few drops of water, making them easier to seal and roll tightly around the filling.
- If you want a spicy kick, mix finely chopped green chilies or a dash of red chili powder into the potato-capsicum filling before stuffing the rolls.
Expert Tips
- For a richer flavor, try using a mixture of different types of bread, such as whole wheat and white bread.
- Experiment with different fillings! Consider using spiced paneer, seasoned ground meat, or a combination of vegetables and cheese.
- Serve these air-fried rolls with a side of chutney, ketchup, or your favorite dipping sauce.
Storage Instructions
- Leftover rolls can be cooled completely and stored in an airtight container for up to two days.
- Reheat them in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes to restore their crispiness before serving.
