Ingredients
For the Latte
- 1 cup Milk
- 1/2 cup Espresso Or Brewed Coffee
- 4 tbsp Pumpkin Puree
- Sweetener honey, sugar, jaggery, maple syrup, or agave nectar, to taste
- 1/2 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
For the Garnish (optional)
- Cream whipped
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, gently heat the milk over medium heat. Do not boil.
- Whisk in the pumpkin puree until it's fully incorporated and the mixture is smooth.
- Add the pumpkin pie spice and whisk to combine. The spices will bloom in the warm milk, releasing their full flavor.
- Stir in the espresso or brewed coffee. If using brewed coffee, ensure it's hot for the best flavor.
- Add the vanilla extract and your preferred sweetener. Adjust the sweetness to your liking.
- Pour the latte into two mugs. If desired, top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of extra pumpkin pie spice.
Pumpkin Puree
- To make your own pumpkin puree, pressure cook the cubed pumpkin with just enough water to cover the bottom of the pot for 3 whistles, or steam until tender.
- Once the pumpkin is cooked and cooled slightly, blend it in a food processor or blender until smooth.
Recipe Notes
Expert Tips
- For a richer flavor, use roasted pumpkin puree instead of canned.
- Adjust the sweetness according to your preference by adding more or less sugar or sweetener.
- Don't overmix the batter, as this can result in tough baked goods.
Storage Instructions
- Store leftover pumpkin-based goods in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
