Ingredients
For the Besan Ladoo Base
- 250 gm Gram Flour also known as besan
- 200 gm Caster Sugar
- 200 gm Clarified Butter ghee, clarified butter
For the Chocolate Decoration
- 100 gm Choco nuts adjust quantity based on desired number of ladoos
- 50 ml Chocolate Syrup adjust quantity based on desired number of ladoos. use a good quality chocolate syrup for best results.
- 1/2 tsp Cardamom Powder for added flavor, optional
Instructions
Preparing the Besan Ladoo Base
- Melt ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan or kadai over medium heat. Add gram flour and cook, stirring continuously, until the mixture turns golden brown and a fragrant aroma develops. This will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Be patient and ensure even cooking.
Adding Sugar and Cooling
- Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly. Gradually add castor sugar and cardamom powder (if using), mixing thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture is well combined.
Shaping the Ladoos
- Once the mixture has cooled completely, it should be firm enough to handle. Roll small portions of the mixture into balls (ladoos). The size of the ladoos is up to your preference.
Adding the Chocolate Decadence
- Make a small indentation in the center of each ladoo. Fill the indentation with choco nuts. Using a piping bag or a ziplock bag with a corner snipped off, carefully pipe or drizzle chocolate syrup around the sides of the ladoo.
Chilling and Serving
- Place the ladoos in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow them to set. Serve chilled and enjoy these delicious Chocolate Besan Ladoos!
