About Blackberry & Green-Apple Slush Mocktail!
Imagine indulging in a grown-up spin on the classic 'Ice-Lolly'—the kind kids crave during scorching summers. This Blackberry & Green-Apple Slush Mocktail is a vibrant, partially-frozen treat that delivers your favorite fruit flavors in a refreshing, sophisticated form. Unlike store-bought slushes loaded with artificial flavors, this homemade version blends fresh blackberries, crisp green apple, mint, and a splash of lemon juice for a naturally sweet, tangy sip.
What sets this slush apart is its method: instead of pouring syrup over crushed ice, the fruit syrups are frozen together, then fused into a lively mocktail that melts slowly as you savor it. This makes every glass last longer, offering a cooling escape from summer heat. Serve it at brunch, a café-inspired get-together, or as a special midday refresher—you’ll love the unique twist and delicious taste of this easy, wholesome beverage!

Ingredients
- 1 cup Blackberries fresh, fresh blackberries
- 1.2 cup Apple juice fresh green
- 1/4 cup Mint Leaves fresh
- 1/4 cup Lemon Juice fresh
- 3 Sugar tbsn
- 2 cup Carbonated Water or soda soda
Instructions
- Firstly, prepare your home-made Blackberry syrup! In a pan, combine your washed blackberries and sugar. Put on low heat.
- After the fruit turns mushy, add a squeeze of lemon juice and if needed, some water if the syrup looks too thick. Turn off the gas when you get the syrupy consistency and let cool. Sieve and pour into an Ice-tray. Set aside.
- Next, prepare your Mint and Green-Apple concoction. Mint gives a fragrant flavor to any cool drink as well as gives a lovely green color to this particular slush.
- In a blender, combine your Green-Apple juice, mint leaves and fresh lemon juice to a uniform liquid. Set aside. Add sugar if needed.
- Next, freeze both of your home-made liquids in separate ice trays for 5-6 hours.
- When you are ready to prepare your Mocktail, blend each of your flavored ice-cubes separately with equal quantities of Soda. You will get separate jars of 2 flavors of icy slushes- Blackberry slush and The Green-Apple & Mint Slush.
- To assemble your Slush Mocktail, carefully pour both your slushes one after the other into wine-glasses or regular glasses. Insert a straw and serve immediately without mixing! Enjoy!
Recipe Notes
- You can substitute Green Apple juice with Kiwi juice for the same green coloured slush!
- You can use store-bought fruit juices instead of fresh juices in your mocktails, but fresh ones are highly recommended.
Additional Tips
- For an extra layer of flavor, try infusing your sugar syrup with a few sprigs of fresh mint or basil before adding it to the fruit mixture—just strain the herbs out before freezing.
- If you prefer a less sweet mocktail, substitute half of the carbonated water with unsweetened green tea or coconut water for a more complex, grown-up base.
- Freeze a portion of the fruit mixture in ice cube trays and use these cubes in place of regular ice to avoid dilution and maintain intense flavor as the slush melts.
- Garnish each glass with a thin slice of green apple and a few whole blackberries on skewers for an elevated, party-ready presentation.
