- 1/2 cup Almonds crushed; slivered almonds can also be used.
- 2 tsp Coconut Paste thick coconut milk can be substituted.
Instructions
Prepare the Barley
- Rinse the barley under cold water.
- Combine barley and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for approximately 30-40 minutes, or until the barley is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
- Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
Create the Creamy Almond Mixture
- While the barley is cooking, heat the milk in a separate saucepan over medium heat. Do not boil.
- Once the barley is cooked, add it to the warm milk.
- Stir in the sugar, crushed almonds, coconut paste, and cardamom powder.
- Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is well combined.
Finish and Serve
- Remove from heat and stir in the keora essence (if using).
