Recipe Notes
Additional Tips
- If the dough feels too sticky due to the moisture from the avocado, dust your hands and the rolling surface generously with whole wheat flour to prevent sticking and help in shaping the parathas cleanly.
- For added fun and nutrition, press sesame seeds or finely grated carrots onto the surface of the shaped parathas before cooking; this adds a crunchy texture and a pop of color that kids will love.
- To keep the cute shapes intact while cooking, gently transfer the shaped dough to the hot tawa using a wide spatula and avoid pressing them down too hard with the rolling pin or while flipping.
- If packing for lunchboxes, allow the parathas to cool completely before storing in the box to prevent them from becoming soggy; a layer of butter paper between parathas helps maintain their texture.
