Coffee Brew

  • 4 tsp Coffee Powder use a good quality south indian filter coffee powder like narasus. adjust to taste.
  • 100 ml Water freshly boiled water is crucial for optimal flavor.
  • 1/4 tsp Rock Salt optional, enhances the coffee flavor.

Milk & Sweetener

  • 2 cup Milk use full-fat milk for best results.
  • 1-2 tsp Sugar adjust to your preference.

Prepare the Coffee Decoction

  • Boil 100ml of water in a small saucepan.
  • In the top chamber of your filter coffee maker, add 1/4 tsp of rock salt (optional), followed by 4 tsp of coffee powder.
  • Securely place the top chamber onto the bottom chamber of the filter.
  • Slowly pour the boiling water over the coffee powder.
  • Cover the filter and let it brew for 15 minutes, allowing the coffee to drip into the bottom chamber.
  • Carefully remove the top chamber of the filter once the brewing is complete.

Froth the Milk

  • Heat 2 cups of milk in a small saucepan over low heat, ensuring it doesn't burn.
  • In a cup, combine 3/4 cup of milk, 1-2 tsp of sugar (or to taste), and 1/4 cup of the prepared coffee decoction.
  • Quickly pour the milk mixture between two cups several times to create a rich froth.

Serve

  • Gently pour the frothed milk and coffee mixture into serving cups or glasses.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy your freshly brewed South Indian Filter Coffee!
