Ingredients
 

  • 2 tbsp Oil mustard oil preferred for authentic flavor
  • 1 tsp Chili red, whole
  • 1 tsp Panch Phoron bengali five-spice blend
  • 1 tsp Garlic minced or finely chopped
  • 2 tsp Chili finely chopped, adjust to taste, green
  • 250 gm Nari Shaak freshly chopped, also known as jute greens
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt or to taste
  • 100 gm Moong Bari store-bought or homemade, also known as fried moong dal fritters, fried until golden

Instructions
 

Sauté Aromatics

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add whole red chilies, panch phoron (five-spice blend), and minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant.

Cook the Jute Greens

  • Add chopped Nari Shaak (jute leaves), turmeric powder, and salt. Stir-fry for a few minutes until slightly wilted. Cover and cook until the greens are tender and have released some moisture.

Combine and Serve

  • Once the Nari Shaak is cooked, gently stir in the fried moong bari (ensure they're pre-fried).
