Recipe Notes
Additional Tips
- For extra flavor complexity, mix a pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg into the batter or sprinkle on top of the apples before baking—this enhances the warmth and depth of the finished cobbler.
- If you prefer a chunkier texture, dice the apples into larger pieces and toss them with a squeeze of lemon juice to preserve their color and add gentle tartness.
- To make this cobbler vegan, substitute the butter with coconut oil or a plant-based buttery spread, and use a flaxseed or chia egg (1 tablespoon ground flaxseed or chia seeds mixed with 2.5 tablespoons water) in place of any eggs if included.
- Serve the cobbler warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream to balance the salty-sweet profile, or drizzle with a quick caramel sauce for an indulgent finish.
