Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 2 cup All-Purpose Flour maida
- 1/2 tsp Salt or to taste
- 1/2 tsp Chaat Masala
- 1/2 tsp Carom Seed carom seeds
Wet Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
- 1/2 cup Water as needed, may use warm water for easier dough formation
Instructions
Prepare the Dough
- Combine all-purpose flour, salt, chaat masala, and ajwain in a large bowl. Gradually add the vegetable oil, mixing with your fingers until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Add warm water, a little at a time, until a firm, smooth dough forms. Knead for 2-3 minutes until the dough is pliable and elastic.
Shape the Matar
- Divide the dough into small, equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin, flat circle using a rolling pin. Use a bottle cap or a small cookie cutter to cut out cashew nut shapes. Repeat with remaining dough.
Air Fry the Matar
- Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F). Arrange the cashew-shaped matar in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking. Allow the matar to cool completely before serving.
Serve and Enjoy
- Serve your crispy, air-fried cashew-shaped matar with tea or your favorite beverage. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
