Wherever you might be beaching these days, everybody knows the cocktail vocabulary! Sunbathing on a tropical seashore or partying in urban cities, your bartender should always know how to answer to your cocktail call.

There are thousands of different combinations that make up a good and refreshing cocktail around the world. However, some of them are so universally good their popularity has conquered the world. So, we decided to put a list with the essential words in the cocktail’s vocabulary and of course, their explanations.
Bartenders around the world should, no doubt, always be ready to prepare one of these cocktails anytime an order is placed. Or, you can be your own bartender. After reading through this list all you need is alcohol delivery, ice, a big glass and some hedonistic notion.

Cocktails Every Bartender Should Know How To Make
1. Mojito
Since we’re at the peak of the summer days, we decided to start this list with the most refreshing cocktail there is. Originally from Havana, Cuba, it’s no surprise that this recipe is very appreciated for high-heat days.
Here is the recipe for the classic Cuban, Mojito drink:
- White rum
- Sugar
- Fresh lime juice
- Soda water
- Fresh mint (Yerba buena)
Put fresh inside the glass and presses it in order to release as much of the smell. Afterward, add the lime juice and the sugar inside. The glass should be filled with an appropriate amount of ice. Pour the rum inside the glass and in the end, top off with club soda. Garnish it with mint and lime/ lemon wheels.
2. Martini
Even though the simplest of them all, Martini is a highly appreciated cocktail among the upper class. However, there are many people that just love a strong martini and we can’t blame them. Since there are several variations you might have heard off, here we will present all of them.
The dry martini:
- Dry white vermouth
- Gin
- Garnished with an olive
The dirty martini:
- Dry white vermouth
- Gin
- Splash of olive juice or olive brine
- Garnished with an olive

- An equal amount of:
- Dry vermouth
- Sweet vermouth
- Gin
- Garnished with olive oil
3. Black Russian
The name doesn’t imply the cocktail’s origin. It probably is named by the Russian vodka used for the recipe. It’s simple and one of the strongest cocktails on the menu.
Here is the recipe:
- 2 shots of vodka
- 1 shot Kahlua (coffee liqueur)
It’s served in an old-fashioned glass with ice. It’s usually not garnished, however, some bartenders might love to put a cherry inside the glass.
4. Sex on the Beach
Everybody loves the name of this cocktail. It’s very popular in places that are located near the beach. The sunny color is an instant association with beaches and fun. Moreover, it’s a very delicious drink and one of the sweetest of them all.
Here is the recipe:
- Vodka
- Peach schnapps
- Orange juice
- Cranberry juice
In a highball glass put ice. Afterward, pour all the ingredients inside. Stir good and garnish with orange wheels and cherries.
5. Pina Colada
The Puerto Rican classic is the sweetest cocktail you can find. Women love it and that’s why it’s considered as a more feminine drink.
Here is the recipe:
- Rum
- Pineapple juice
- Coconut cream
All of the ingredients are to be shaken good with a lot of ice. Pour in an elegant glass and garnish with pineapple, cherries, cocktail umbrellas. Nothing is too much when it comes to Pina Colada.
