Recipe Notes
Good To Know
- If mango puree is cooked with a teaspoon of corn flour, it will help thicken the mixture and prevent it from becoming runny.
- Using an Oreo base makes the dessert easier to handle.
- For added color and nutrition, mix in finely grated carrots or beetroot with the green peas. Their sweetness complements the condensed milk and creates a visually appealing dessert.
- Use silicon molds or cookie cutters to create fun shapes with the dessert mixture before chilling. This adds an interactive element to snack time.
- Toast the grated coconut in a dry pan before adding it to the mixture to enhance its flavor and add a bit of crunch.
Expert Tips
- For a creamier texture, use full-fat condensed milk. If you prefer a less sweet dessert, consider using a reduced-sugar variety.
- If using fresh mango, ensure it's ripe but firm for the best flavor and texture. If using frozen mango, thaw it completely before blending to avoid a watery puree.
- Get creative with the toppings! Chopped nuts, dried fruit, or a drizzle of chocolate sauce can add extra flavor and visual appeal.
Storage Instructions
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days.
- Serve slightly chilled for a firmer texture.
