Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 100 gm Water Chestnut Flour singhare atte
- 1 cup Coconut Milk
- Jaggery to taste
Flavor Enhancers
- 2 tbsp Ghee
- 2 tbsp Nuts chopped, mixed
- 2 tbsp Raisins
- ½ tsp Cardamom Powder
Instructions
- In a pan or kadai, heat the ghee over medium heat. This helps to prevent the halwa from sticking and adds a rich flavor.
- Add the water chestnut flour and roast it, stirring constantly, until a fragrant aroma develops and the color slightly deepens. This step is crucial for removing any raw taste from the flour.
- Add the chopped nuts and raisins. Sauté for a minute until they are lightly toasted.
- Stir in the cardamom powder and jaggery. Adjust the amount of jaggery based on your desired level of sweetness. Mix well to combine.
- Reduce the heat to low and gradually pour in the coconut milk while stirring continuously. This prevents lumps from forming and ensures a smooth halwa.
- Continue to cook and stir until the halwa thickens and absorbs most of the coconut milk. The halwa is ready when it starts to leave the sides of the pan.
- Remove from heat and serve the warm Water Chestnut Flour Halwa hot or warm. Garnish with extra chopped nuts if desired.
