Instructions

Make the Pizza Dough

  • Combine flour, yeast, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.

Prepare the Pizza Boats

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and divide it into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a 6-inch circle or oval. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over each dough circle, leaving a 1/2-inch border.

Add the Toppings

  • Evenly distribute the diced zucchini, yellow squash, and jalapeños over the sauce. Sprinkle with oregano, red pepper flakes, and black pepper. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.

Bake and Serve

  • Fold the four sides of each dough circle towards the center to create a boat shape. Brush the edges with melted butter. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Let cool slightly before serving.

Recipe Notes

Expert Tips

  • For extra flavor, sauté the zucchini and yellow squash before adding them to the pizza boats.
  • Feel free to customize the toppings! Add your favorite vegetables, meats, or cheeses.
  • If you want crispier crust, pre-bake the dough for 5 minutes before adding the toppings.
  • These pizza boats are best served immediately, but leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
